“I went to Seminary / FoothillBlvd, tried to make a music video for my diss record, and I ended up getting shot nine times for it.”
Jason Antoine Beasley, 24, is charged with eight felonies and numerous charge enhancements, including kidnapping to commit a sex crime, and assault w/ a deadly weapon.
In trial opening statements prosecutors said, "When victim Ashad was presented a photo line up of his suspected shooter, Ashad pointed Beasley, out of a photographic line-up consisting of six black males similar in age and appearance.”
On the witness stand, Ashad identified Jason A. Beasley as the man who was his shooter in the June 3, 2013, incident that left him paralyzed from the head down.
He was attempting to shoot a visual for a diss track moments before his shooting, according to his testimony.
He said that he made a diss song and then tried to make a visual for the diss on Oakland’s Seminary Boulevard at age 34.
The night before his shooting, he said he posted his ‘Philthy You A Verse Lick’ record online and then made plans with his entrouge to shoot the visual for the diss on Seminary, he said.

He said he was on Seminary / Foothill Blvd with his entourage when a man noticed them making a music video and stopped by in his car.
He basically walked up, and then shot me nine times, he testified.
"When he shot me in the leg, I fell and broke my jaw," he said.
"He was pretty much like, 'What y'all doing over here?' so it seemed as if it was a setup. It seemed as if they knew I was coming to Seminary because it was like 10:30 at night, how would he have just been over there driving around like that? He left me paralyzed from the head down all because I wanted to shoot a diss video on Seminary" Ashad, 33, told the grand jury in the attempted second-degree murder trial of Jason Beasley, 23.

Beasley also faces a separate trial on charges that he sexually assaulted a 17-year-old girl he abducted in June 2013, a month before he shot Ashad.
In that case Beasley allegedly abducted the girl in East Oakland on June 3, 2013, sexually assaulted her and tried to make her work as a prostitute.

Murder-For-Hire
Plots

Alameda County Sheriff's Offices:
On Sep 28, 2013, Bay Area Rapper "Kafani" was fatally shot multiple times by Jason Antoine Beasley on Seminary/Foothill Blvd in Oakland, CA.
Alameda County District Attorney Nancy O'Malley confirmed Philip A. Beasley had conspired with Jason Beasley to have victim Ashad murdered several weeks prior the shooting, over a "rap beef" that escalated to an all time high.
The Alameda County Sheriff's Office determined Jason Beasley's involvement in the crime as a "murder-for-hire" scheme. Six months after Ashad was shot and paralyzed, police said the case went cold, until an individual willing to comply with prosecutors came forward and is belived to be a star witness in the case.
Detectives presented victim Ashad a photo line up which contained the possible suspect. Ashad picked Jason Beasley, out of a “photographic line-up consisting of six black males similar in age and appearance.”
With the victim able to positively identify Jason Beasley as the shooter, the recovered assault weapon, and two eye witness statements, detectives had enough to charge Jason Beasley with:
Felony Attempted Murder & Assault With A Deadly Weapon
The motive behind the shooting is believed to be over several derogatory remarks Ashad made against rapper Philip A. Beasley a/k/a Philthy Rich. Ashad aggravated Beasley, by disrespecting Beasley in a rap diss, that he posted online. Ashad further insulted Beasley, by making an appearance on Beasley's Seminary block, with the intentions to diss Beasley, in Beasley's hood, all on camera.
Alameda County Sheriff's apprehended Jason Beasley, after an undercover police officer coincidentally spotted Beasley recklessly driving in East Oakland, on March 07, 2015.
Alameda County District Attorney Nancy O'Malley has charged Jason Beasley with attempted murder, along with other felony charges, and Beasley is awaiting trial for his involvement in the Ashad shootings. Ashad is desirous to prosecute Beasley. Currently Beasley is being held at Santa Rita Jail, without bail. If convicted Beasley could face 300 Years in a State Prison.
Philip A. Beasley & Jason Beasley have been extremely uncooperative with detectives in the course of this investigation. Philip Beasley has denied any involvement in the fatal shooting of the rapper Ashad.

Kafani Dissing Philthy Rich - Song
Why was Kafani Shot?
On September 27, 2013, Kafani uploaded the "Philthy Rich Diss Tape" onto YouTube. Kafani dissed rapper Philthy Rich, throughout the song shown above. Kafani said in his song,
"Philthy Rich a bitch, he don't got shooters, he ain't from Seminary."
Shortly after publishing the song, Kafani drove out to Seminary (Philthy's Hood) in East Oakland. On Philthy's block, Kafani began shooting his music video, for the Philthy Rich diss tape. Before Kafani could even begin shooting his diss tape, Philthy Rich's Brother: JBAY, spotted Kafani making the Philthy Rich diss tape. JBAY was furious when he saw Kafani, shooting his music video on Philthy's block. JBAY immediately bounced out on Kafani using his Maserati.
JBAY walked up on Kafani, then asked Kafani,
"what y'all doin there?"
Before Kafani replied, JBAY riddled Kafani's body with bullets. JBAY then calmly walked back to his Maserati, where he smashed off. Kafani was paralyzed, for the rest of his life, attempting to make the Philthy Rich diss music video.
JBAY shows zero tolerance for any type of attack, made against his brother Philthy Rich.
Many people never belived the power of Philthy Rich, until they saw what Philthy Rich had done to Kafani. Rapper Philthy Rich is a dangerous man that will get you knocked off, if you play with him like that. JBAY did this for the love of his big brother Philthy. In return for this favor, Philthy threw JBAY a Breitling watch, and $40,000 in cash for the fatal shooting of Kafani. Police have charged JBAY with Attempted Murder, Assault W/ Deadly's, and several GBI charges. Kafani is testifying against JBAY, and has positivity identified JBAY as the shooter.
